Orange Brands Management has announced that Sushisamba is slated to expand into the Dutch market with a new restaurant in Amsterdam this summer, joining venues in London, New York, Las Vegas, and Miami. The forthcoming venue will open along the city’s famed Singelgracht Canal, adjacent to the Holland Casino Amsterdam in Leidse Square.
Influenced by southern Kyoto’s Fushimi Inari Shrine, Dutch architect Hans J. M. Ruijssenaars will craft the eatery’s Japanese-style exterior, with Dutch design firm Woodfever handling the interiors. The design boasts an exposed kitchen, and floor-to-ceiling windows, which also open up a connection to the street during warmer months. The brand’s signature Sushisamba orange tree will anchor the dining room at the center of the sushi bar.
Stylistic iconography will channel modern Brazilian architecture and colorful Japanese calligraphy alongside the brand’s signature graffiti art. Leading to an outdoor terrace, black and white serpentine flooring will reference Rio de Janeiro’s Copacabana Beach.
