The Pearl Restaurant and Bar has opened at the Sam Houston Hotel following an extensive redesign and rebranding of the previous onsite F&B concept. Local firm H3D Hospitality Design spearheaded the project with principal Candice Schiller at the helm.
The renovated space exudes an urban coastal aesthetic with furnishings and details that include vintage brass light fixtures and accents, caramel-colored leather Chesterfield sofas, black leather chairs, zinc and brass tables, cement tile insets, and plantation shutters.
The venue’s cool palette is made more stylish with brick and live-edged cedar walls while also honoring former Texas governor Sam Houston’s Cherokee roots through the addition of Buckskin upholstery and banquettes dressed in black and cream ikat fabrics. Vaulted ceilings made of press tin and antique mirrors soar above the steel and glass wine room, visible from the hotel’s lobby.
The Pearl Bar showcases mixology talent before a black wooden wall contrasting the Calacatta bartop edged in heavy zinc, while two large oyster chandeliers serve as the main focal points of the setting.
