Valencia, Spain-based design firm Masquespacio has completed Piada Confluence, a new Italian concept, in the French food capital of Lyon. Emphasizing traditional elements and natural ingredients, the space is reminiscent of the past while also balancing a modern ethos. Locally based architecture practice Sandrine Brenans also served on the project.
The firm outfitted the restaurant with artisan tiles alongside a range of fixtures like golden bar lamps and arcs clad with mirrors that recall the traditional bars of bygone Italy. Abundant greenery is also featured prominently as are wood and terracotta to further amplify the natural palette. Neon signage reading “A bit of Italy” is also installed as a key focal point of the colorful interior.
