New York-based design firm LOT Architecture has completed the latest outpost of farm-to-table coffee concept Devocion. Located in downtown Brooklyn, New York, the new space is anchored by a jungle-inspired island at its center, which offsets the warm and rustic palette. An abundance of tropical greenery populates the space along with custom furniture and detailing from tiles to cabinetry.
“With this project, as well as with the future Devocion locations under development, we are defining the architectural aesthetic of the expanding brand with certain elements that give life to the unique café concept and its Colombian origin, appearing each time in new formats with a contextual uniqueness, depending on each location’s conditions,” says Leo Trampoukis of LOT. “In the case of the downtown Brooklyn location, there is a presence of lush nature, improvised and informal seating moments, a connecting and gathering lounge, a coffee counter that functions as a main pole and a diverse materiality palette of warm but raw elements that include Colombian wood, concrete blocks, tiles, and stone.”
