The Laurel Inn, a Joie de Vivre Hotel, in San Francisco’s Pacific Heights neighborhood has welcomed its newest F&B venue, Laureate. Designed by locally based firm RPM Studio in collaboration with Shannon Torrey, the bar and lounge concept evokes the chic style of Pacific Heights with a warm, midcentury-inspired aesthetic.
“With Laureate, we wanted to establish an approachable urban oasis that would encourage neighbors and locals alike to consider Laureate an extension of their own living rooms,” says RPM Studio founder Regina Perez Montemayor. “Our goal was to achieve a space that felt effortlessly collected rather than thematic, and to honor the midcentury era without necessarily recreating it.”
Spread across 1,100 square feet, Laureate is anchored with a majestic floor-to-ceiling terrazzo fireplace as well as abundant natural light. The warm, midcentury style serves the casual atmosphere with brass accents and neutral tones of pink, gold, and burnt orange. Color-blocked illustrations and abstract portraiture adorn the walls, while lush greenery further enhances the interior.
