New Orleans-based design firm Colectivo has completed its latest location for French Truck Coffee in the Big Easy. The adaptive-reuse project saw the overhaul of a former double shotgun residence recently converted into a whitebox retail space. Compact and clean, the redesign sought to mirror the layout of previous locations while also maximizing the architectural character of the site.
The sundrenched interior features dark walnut cladding and countertops to convey warmth, while cool gray cement tiles and exposed gray plywood tables accent yellow occassional chairs. Adjacent to the coffee shop, an alfresco seating is framed with wood and a steel trellis with climbing plants that promises partial shade and definition.
