Brigitte has arrived on the Lower East Side of Manhattan as a new French concept with a Brazilian twist. Designed by Jeffrey White of New York-based firm EAU, the 53-seat restaurant is named for iconic French movie star Brigitte Bardot, and reflects her independent, convivial spirit.
Statement pieces such as a two-sided Carrara marble bar and modern brass light fixtures are installed to evoke the actress’ flair, while more residential touches like vintage French imprimés in mismatched frames adorn the walls and antique French bottles line the bar shelves. The open kitchen is surrounded by blue tiling, high ceilings, two window walls, and palms and other greenery.
