Chef Nick Leahy’s two new Westside Atlanta concepts—Aix restaurant and Tin Tin wine bar—recall his upbringing in Aix-en-Provence in southern France. Designed by locally based design studio AI3, the two separate venues share a kitchen while seamlessly evoking a sense of rustic France in their elegant interiors.
Occupying a triangular plot of the local Stockyard development, the restaurant and bar also reflect a modern influence across their combined 4,080-square-foot footprint. Aix features white plaster, gray stones, and copper accents to evoke the historic aesthetic of Provence. Stained wood beams also line the ceilings above wide plank oak floors, while a natural stone wall stretches across the interior. Bronze and brass accents offset more timeworn details of the space. Flanked by booths, a freestanding bead installation sits at the heart of the dining room in homage to the French game of pétanque. In addition, a steel and glass volume showcases the onsite wine cellar.
White tile floors span in a geometric Provençal blue spans the interior of Tin Tin, where white metal chairs sit beneath rose gold light fixtures. Tin Tin is also equipped with an enclosed patio composed of concrete floors, a fireplace, a navy ceiling.
