Los Angeles-based Avenue Interior Design has completed work on the SLS Baha Mar, which is now open in the Bahamas. The fifth property in the SLS brand portfolio, the 299-room hotel’s design celebrates Bahamian culture by mixing old and new.
A refreshing lobby design boasts a relaxed yet sophisticated material palette that includes bleached walnut and white oak wood—all of which appear throughout the property. Along with a tropical color palette and artistically inspired accessories, black and white local photography anchors the hotel and maximize the tropical experience. Los Angeles-based designer Gulla Jonsdottir led the design of the hotel’s restaurant Cleo, while Philippe Starck oversaw the design of the Katsuya by Starck Baha Mar. In addition to the Fi’lia Restaurant, the SLS Baha Mar features the Privilege Pool Deck as well as the rooftop bar and lounge Sky Bar.
