The Rosewood Sanya has debuted in the South China Sea as the second Rosewood Hotels & Resorts property in mainland China. Celebrating the setting, the hotel incorporates wood, tribal totems, and aquatic elements into its tranquil, contemporary design. Set upon 40 acres of manicured gardens surrounding the Sanya Forum, the property is crafted by Chicago-based architecture firm Goettsch and Hong Kong-based interior design practice AB Concept.
Guests are welcomed onsite by thoughtful art installations that channel the inspiring surroundings, including a 23-foot-tall abstract floral oil painting from artist Carlos Arnaiz; a rattan-woven book sculpture by Qin Da Li; and a bamboo and wood rendering of the Tower of Babel from Ding Hao.
Rooms range in size from 730 to 7,320 square feet, and 45 of the 246 guestrooms boast balcony plunge pools. The 13th floor is home to the 360-foot infinity-edge sky pool and the HAI pool bar, which frames the water sporting island of Wuzhizhou.
The property is also home to five restaurants and lounges, including the modern, upscale East Kitchen on the 13th floor. Sense, A Rosewood Spa, features two double treatment rooms, four single treatment rooms, and one VIP treatment room. A fully equipped fitness center and indoor and outdoor yoga studios are also included. Among the 36,866 square feet of event space are six function rooms and a 16,145-square-foot, pillar-free ballroom.
