The recently debuted Andaz Mayakoba Resort Riviera Maya has opened its onsite wellness facility, Naum Spa. Named for Naum, the Mayan god of consciousness and mind, the spa comprises 10,000 square feet at the heart of the property with six open and airy treatment cabins, as well as two hydrotherapy areas. The full-service facility also accommodates a 24-hour fitness center and three outdoor pools.
The recently opened Andaz Mayakoba hosts 214 open guestrooms and suites overlooking lagoons, resort gardens, and the Caribbean coastline. Naturally inspired artisan décor furnishes each accommodation, which are each equipped with a spacious balcony or terrace. Locally made area rugs harmonize with Mayan décor against a minimal color palette inspired by natural terrain, such as stone, sand, and water. All 41 luxury suites also feature private plunge pools.
In addition to the central poolside open kitchen Cocina Milagro, OllaTaco and OllaCiviche are featured as part of the onsite F&B options. Both eateries are equipped with open kitchens and bars, as well as tall wooden ceilings, a vibrant palette, and a convivial atmosphere. Latin American dinner venue Casa Amate is designed with a sophisticated residential concept complete with intimate dining rooms that include terraces with lagoon views. Each space serves as a different room of a house, such as the “Library” lined with stocked bookshelves and the “Living Room,” which includes a fireplace and large artwork.
Included among the resort’s 14,000 square feet of meeting and event space are five Andaz Studios and the 6,000-square-foot Balam ballroom, all of which are situated around a central courtyard. All venues are designed with simple wood and stone elements and include large sliding panels and area rugs reminiscent of Mayan textile design.
