Kimpton Hotels & Resorts has made its European debut with the launch of the Kimpton De Witt in central Amsterdam. Spread across three original structures from the Dutch Golden Age, the hotel is dressed in Dutch-inspired designs conceived by Kimpton creative director Ave Bradley.
Situated within the city’s Palace Quarter, the 274-room Kimpton De Witt marries the brand’s signature design touches with whimsical elements. Living floral walls make a bold statement while Delft-inspired bathroom tiles are a subtle nod to the onsite influences. Custom desks, unique bird lamps, and porcelain, gold-dipped parrots exude playfulness across the hotel.
One of the property’s most unique offerings is the three-story Little House. Once home to 17th- century Dutch playwright P.C. Hooft, the space is outfitted with two king-sized rooms and a living area on the first floor. The Penthouse De Witt spans two stories and boasts a 323-square-foot roof terrace.
In addition to the Wyers Bar & Restaurant, the House Bar will open onsite in a former home first constructed in 1645. More than 6,475 square feet of artful meeting space is offered, including a modern boardroom just off the lobby. A flower shop and open-air courtyard inject the interior with color and distinct European charm.
