Generator Hotels is poised to launch its second U.S. property in the nation’s capital. Home to 148 guestrooms and suites, Generator Washington, DC will open within a former Courtyard by Marriott, which will be transformed by Dallas-based Studio 11 Design.
The hotel will instill a sense of place with artwork sourced from the design firm’s partnership with Lou Verne, a creative, art consultancy company. More than 700 pieces of art will punctuate accommodations, including reimagined political portraits from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries that depict the likes of Thomas Jefferson overlaid with a woman’s manicured hands. The Signature suite, in particular, will focus on an aesthetic inspired by Abraham Lincoln.
The additions of vibrant social spaces, including a lively lobby, pool deck, and many F&B venues are further slated to arrive in spring 2020.
