The Four Seasons Hotel at the Surf Club has opened in Surfside, Florida in Miami Beach. The landmark Mediterranean Revival building from the 1930s has been restored to its original opulence by Parisian interior architect Joseph Dirand and architect Richard Meier. Meier created three new buildings that flank the original clubhouse, while Dirand tackled interiors for the 77-room hotel. The legacy of the Surf Club has also been captured as part of an installation from artist Michele Oka Doner.
Each guestroom includes elements that reference the property’s past, present, and future. Dirand has appointed five Cabana Studio suites, which pay homage to the unique cabana culture along the original Cabana Row.
The Spa, also designed by Dirand, adopts a crisp palette of white and blue. The wellness space houses a steam room, sauna, hammam, and tea lounge. Eight bright and airy treatment rooms are included along with two Spa Cabana suites and a relaxation room offering ocean and garden views.
The Surf Club has also welcomed the first Le Sirenuse restaurant and champagne bar outside of its home in Positano, Italy. The eatery is dressed in shades of faded magnolia, beachcomber green, and mahogany in reference to the aesthetic of its original outpost.
A forthcoming pool will be lined with 40 air-conditioned and fully furnished cabanas.
