Omaha-based design and engineering firm DLR Group has breathed new life into the Laylow Hotel by Marriott Autograph in Waikiki. Hawaiian beach vibes meet midcentury urban sensibilities in the renovated beachfront hideaway, which was first established in the 1960s.
“The location of the Laylow Hotel by Marriott Autograph provides a classically midcentury Hawaiian hospitality experience,” said DLR Group principal Ken Martin. “The project location offered the design team many opportunities to give visitors a beach and city experience with open spaces in the lobby and an active retail zone on the street level.”
The 16-story, 250-room hotel features 10,000 square feet of retail space and a newly outfitted pooldeck. A fitness center, spa, dining area, and lounge bar have also been introduced complete with the property’s signature, midcentury Hawaiian furniture and décor.
