The Bahia Mar Fort Lauderdale Beach – a DoubleTree by Hilton has announced plans for a $7 million refresh to reflect the city’s nautical lifestyle and the hotel’s location between the Intracoastal and the Atlantic Ocean. Slated for completion this October, the upgrade will be led by locally based firm ID & Design International.
Underwater elements will be installed across the 296-room property, beginning with the blue-hued custom chandelier soon to grace the atrium with strands of silver-flecked glass shards. The main tower’s 181 guestrooms will be reimagined with a white and blue scheme complete with custom carpeting, floor-to-ceiling headboards, peak-wood dressers and desks, custom light fixtures, flowing drapery, and new appliances.
The hotel’s corridors and 28,000 square feet of meeting space will be updated with new light fixtures and carpeting clad with a ripple-like design. The onsite ballroom—the largest in Fort Lauderdale—will undergo a major transformation complete with another luxe chandelier.
The Waves Rooftop Pool Bar and Grill will be informed by the ocean with the installation of white lounge chairs cabanas accented with coral-toned cushioning.
