The iconic Armstrong Hotel in Fort Collins, Colorado has closed its doors to undergo a comprehensive remodel and refresh. Slated to reopen in early spring 2019, the property will maintain its identity as a cultural hub for the local community in its redesign from locally based Shalls Design Studio.
The interior refresh will marry the historic structure’s original Art Deco architectural details with updated décor to establish a layered, residential-style warmth. The restoration will entail the expansion of the lobby, and include a material palette that mixes earthy, natural, and jewel tones with industrial elements including vintage leather, wood, and metal. The Ace Gillett’s Lounge is set to return as the hotel’s social nucleus as well.
