Design firm: JSE Design, Brooklyn, New York
The details: For jewelry dealer Fabrikant’s glowing new showroom in Manhattan’s Diamond District, Brooklyn-based JSE Design looked to deliver a chic, decadent experience “with a beautiful space to relax, entertain, and enjoy Fabrikant’s breathtaking pieces,” says firm CEO and owner Jared Epps. To do so, he married the luxe with the primitive, taking inspiration from the organic composition of the jewels and stones.
To that end, an eye-catching charred wood wall recalls “the coal that many of Fabrikant’s gems originate from,” explains Epps, while brass accents and metallic tones play off one another. The lustrous Kauri wood porcelain flooring adds a rich warmth, as does an oversized, handpainted Marilyn Monroe graphic with her dreamy gaze leading guests into the kitchen, complete with monolithic cabinets, marble countertops, a wine fridge, and an espresso station. Curated furnishings are eclectic with custom pieces such as the marble table paired with velvet chairs in the conference room. Here, custom display units are fabricated in brushed brass set into a matte black wall “with angles that echo the multifaceted gems that are showcased within,” says Epps, adding a finishing touch to the showroom’s glamorous style.
