Favorite artist
Adam Goldstein: James Turrell. The visceral response from viewing his work speaks for itself.
Leslie Kale: Impossible for me to pick just one, but I love Maurizio Cattelan for his large format, ballsy installations. And I love the midcentury feel of graffiti artist Dove Green so much.
Christian Schulz: I’ve always been a huge fan of Alison Van Pelt, a Los Angeles artist who we are working with now at Hotel Figueroa in Downtown LA.
Favorite weekend activity
AG: Sitting at the beach, not looking at my phone.
LK: To unplug.
CS: Riding my black beach cruiser down to Venice Breakwater beach for a morning surf, followed by avocado toast at Superba Food + Bread with my better half, Elizabeth, and maybe some sundown margaritas and a post-afternoon swim with her at James’ Beach.
Favorite city or place to visit
AG: New Orleans. It’s the perfect blend of music, food, booze, and soul. What else do you need?
LK: Tulum, Mexico and Florence, Italy.
CS: I’m currently writing this from an amazing little dusty beach town just south of Todos Santos, Baja Sur, Mexico—a great escape hatch off the beaten path, about an hour north of Cabo. It’s desolate, hot, windswept with warm water waves and plenty of cold beer. Just perfect.
Most used phone app
AG: Social media notwithstanding, Shazam still amazes me everytime I use it.
LK: Waze, hands down.
CS: It’s a close tie between Waze and Instagram—both are must-haves for a creative business.
First thing you do when you wake up
AG: Hit snooze.
LK: Load up on Vitamin C.
CS: Walk to my balcony, pull back the sheers, and see how windy or sunny it is out over the sea. And check for sailboats.
