Denver-based investment and management company Silverwest Hotels has received LEED certification for its Element Basalt-Aspen Hotel in Basalt, Colorado. The hotel is among only 12 in the state to achieve the designation.

“By paying attention to sustainable design and eco-friendly practices, we have built a next-generation hotel that aims to provide a healthier place for both guests and associates while at the same time doing our part to conserve and protect the environment and respect our spectacular Colorado mountain setting,” says Silverwest CEO Ed Mace.

Starwood’s environmentally conscious, extended stay Element by Westin’s prototype was modified to include a localized context in its architecture. The hotel’s final design is a collaboration between Colorado firms Lipkin Warner Planning & Design and O’Bryan Partnership.

Brand signatures are designed to promote wellness through the use of natural light and open space, while large guestrooms include fully equipped kitchens, spa-quality bathrooms, and Westin’s renowned Heavenly Bed.
