Parisian design practice Jouin Manku has revealed its design for the new Van Cleef & Arpels boutique in Miami. Located in the city’s Design District, the store’s sleek gray stone façade is accented with leaves crafted from stone and patineaed brass.
A window framed in bronze reveals the gray-beige, two-level interior to passersby. The ground floor is appointed with Corian display cases lined with pink fabric and fixed atop mirror-polished steel supports. Covered in stretched metallic fabric, curved, luminous timber screens create zones for privacy and emit a gentle glow. The back of the store is outfitted with a larger-scale screen that envelops a lounge furnished with a velvet sofa that balances the light with its blue tone.
Several hundred champagne-colored brass leaves flutter across the walls and ascend with the stone staircase, which is flanked by two columns clad in creamy leather. Concentric circle designs span the ceiling, while wool carpeting in gray-blue tones provide a counterpoint. The upper level also houses a full-height cabinet that is backlit and also lined with pink fabric and installed on a stainless steel frame. The intimate enclave features a velvet corner sofa in blue as well as low table and small armchairs. A heavy silver fabric curtain maximizes privacy.
