Brooklyn-based firm CRÈME/Jun Aizaki Architecture and Design has unveiled its design of the new Naked & Famous store in the SoHo section of Manhattan.
The storefront of the denim brand’s new flagship is punctuated with a 10-foot-wide neon installation that depicts a nude blonde in Pop Art style. Spread across 890 square feet, the store is lined with cotton denim floors crafted via a partnership with the largest denim mill and the oldest tile company in Japan.
Indigo-dyed furniture also spans the interior along with a bespoke butcher block counter whose top is embellished with varying degrees of saturation. The eastern wall of the store is adorned with a mural of wearable art including a floor-to-ceiling installation of pre-worn, faded jeans. Walls are also wrapped in vintage blue pages from Japanese comics books and even outfitted with one hidden doors accessed by pulling on a kokeshi, or antique wooden Japanese doll.
