New York-based architecture firm Janson Goldstein has completed its redesign of department store Holt Renfrew’s Vancouver flagship. The firm, which first designed the 86,000-square-foot space in 2007, has unveiled an expansion in addition to updates to the retail venue.
Included among the 36,000 square feet of new space is a new second internal atrium that connects the existing store to a new Holt Renfrew Men unit first conceived by Janson Goldstein for the retailer’s Toronto flagship. A new 12,000-square-foot Beauty Hall has debuted, along with a new 8,000-square-foot shoe salon and updates to handbag and jewelry areas. Housed beneath an enclosed rooftop penthouse, personal shopper suites have opened beside “The Apartment,” an exclusive, 1,200-square-foot private shopping area equipped with a wraparound terrace.
