The new nightlife and dining concept Tokyo Pearl has debuted in the trendy Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, DC. Designed by locally based firm //3877, the dive reflects the glam and grunge vibe of Tokyo nightlife across indoor and outdoor environments.
The redesign of the former retail space adds height to low ceilings, and retains heavy wood details. Neon highlights inject a vibrant energy into the setting, while a range of diverse seating includes long booths, and VIP tables that contrast the casual corner of the space called Bento. The lounge weaves together Tokyo-based inspiration points, from busy markets to underground nightclubs, resulting in an ambiance that feels sleek and elevated. Populated with repurposed with church pews, the onsite patio accommodates nearly 45 guests beneath a retractable roof that protects the space for use throughout the year.
