The new eatery spot, Sobremesa, has debuted within an 18th century storefront in Palermo, Italy. Designed by local firm Studio DiDeA, the minimalist-style restaurant is set within the historic Piazza Cassa di Risparmio.
A former leather goods shop, the space is outfitted with an irregular layout that comprises three different components. Studio DiDeA unified these three spaces by a fluid new plan with wider openings. Lined with smooth plastered walls, the entry room is anchored by a bush-hammered Carrara marble bar. At the main room, a backlit, custom-made wine cellar serves as the centerpiece, installed upon oak parquet flooring.
