Spanish design studio Masquespacio has completed the new La Sastrería eatery in the El Canyamelar-El Cabanyal neighborhood of Valencia. The animated seafood concept showcases a bold sensory experience that amplifies the aesthetic of the surrounding residential maritime community.
Welcoming visitors at the bar are midcentury-style high-back chairs reminiscent of plastic chairs commonly used by locals to socialize on the streets of the area. Custom prints adorn the bar alongside handmade clay and ceramic tiling in a dreamy blue tone, which is also evident in a canopy of suspended ornaments. In the dining room, sculptural ceramic pieces wrap the walls in the form of a wave, while floors are divided between blue and white ceramics to symbolize the point where the shore meets the sea. The open kitchen is positioned to recall a fish market, further instilling a colorful sense of place.
