Brighton, U.K.-based design practice DesignLSM has crafted Avobar, a new themed pop-up in London’s Covent Garden neighborhood. Featuring an avocado-driven design and menu, the concept evokes a laidback, bohemian flair.
Spread across 740 square feet, the restaurant features an open, convivial atmosphere supported over two floors, and draws inspiration from the laid-back aesthetic of California. A relaxed palette defines the interior with white timber, ample hanging foliage, and a variety of printed and woven textiles. The interior is anchored by a central service counter clad entirely with handmade pastel and avocado-hued tiles, while a rustic gantry made from peeled timber branches frames fresh produce on display. Soft brass and oversized rattan pendant lighting illuminate the intimate and communal pockets of seating, with warm reclaimed timbers, hammered copper, and terrazzo finishes rounding out the design.
An in-house retail space is also included in the concept.
