Located in South Africa’s picturesque Cape Winelands, Glenelly Estate has introduced the new Vine Bistro, as well as a revamped tasting room and glass museum. Inspired by the locale’s French heritage and charm, the sophisticated aesthetic was crafted courtesy of Cape Town firm Inhouse Brand Architects.
Inhouse laced the first-floor tasting room with old and historic elements, infusing it with a newfound warmth. Subtle features nod to the estate’s legacy, such as suspended brass lighting and a replica of a 25-year-old vine suspended above the building’s reception area. The design of the adjacent Vine Bistro draws inspiration from its French menu with 19th century French chairs and classic Parisian tables. White metro wall tiles, patterned floor tiles, and class French-style wall moldings on bars and counters further amplify this theme. The stunning landscape is integrated within the eatery thanks to glass foldaway doors. A pergola shelters the bistro’s terrace and promotes further connection with the scenery.
The tasting room is equipped with a tasting bar crafted from polished concrete and granite and engraved with a property map on its corner. Separate and private tasting areas are installed as well, wrapped in glass and black steel frames.
