New York-based firms AvroKO and Meyer Davis Studio were recognized as winners during the 2017 James Beard Foundation Design Awards last week at a ceremony at Lyric Opera of Chicago.
AvroKO won for its SingleThread project in Healdsburg, California in the 75 Seats and Under category, led by designers and principals Greg Bradshaw Adam Farmerie, William Harris, and Kristina O’Neal. Meyer Davis Studio’s St. Cecilia project in Atlanta won in the category of 76 Seats and Over, with designers Gray Davis, Katie McPherson, and Will Meyer behind the project.
This year’s Design Icon award was handed out to the Grand Central Oyster Bar and Restaurant in New York’s Grand Central Terminal.
