Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida has completed a multi-million dollar, resort-wide renovation. A collaboration between New Yorkâ€â€œbased MLG Architects; Monogram by Callison; Scottsdale, Arizona-based Testani Design Troupe; and EDSA, the design transformation creates a rejuvenating, natural beach-resort atmosphere.
The resort’s 510 guestrooms have been updated with new furnishings and soothing earth tones. Located in the main resort, the refreshed suites boast separate living areas, large workspaces, and bathrooms with chrome fixtures. The 80 Villas at Sawgrass, set in cozy surroundings, also include new amenities.
The renovation also includes the addition of two signature restaurants. Alice & Pete’s Pub, launched in 2013, is named for golf legends Alice and Pete Dye, architects of the Stadium and Dye’s Valley Courses at TPC Sawgrass. With views of the Dye’s Course artistry, the restaurant is imbued with mahogany-hued décor and has a large terrace shaded by a wood pergola. Vernon’s-named for former general manager and president of the PGA Tour, Vernon Kelly-is set before the resort’s waterfall and lagoon. The other on-site dining areas have also been updated.

The Cabana Beach Club is revamped with beach-inspired design touches that recall the resort’s golf-centric appeal. The club houses the Mediterranean-inspired 619 Ocean View restaurant, the beachside Sea Porch Bar & Grill, and Sharkey’s seasonal café.
The resort’s 56,000 square feet of meeting space includes new wallcoverings, seating, light fixtures, and carpeting. Carpet patterns throughout the 12 meeting spaces now mimic the trajectory of golf balls; furnishings and fixtures provide an golf clubhouse appeal; and all ballrooms, pre-function areas, meeting rooms, and boardrooms have been revitalized with artwork and golf memorabilia reflective of the entire property.
