Downtown Los Angeles is set to welcome a new hotel concept this July with the launch of the Wayfarer DTLA. Located in the neighborhood’s historic Broadway Corridor, El Segundo, California-based firm Rockefeller Kempel Architects will handle the design.
An open lobby will greet visitors as one of the hotel’s many flexible public areas. Skylights, greenery, and lofted spaces will bring the spirit of the surrounding community inside, and locally sourced artwork will further promote exploration among travelers while instilling a sense of place.
In addition to the communal Kitchen, cocktail concept Lilly Rose, and open-air Rooftop bar, the Gaslighter Social Club in the lobby will embrace a communal sensibility with shared seating and a pour-your-own-beer wall. A handful of shared accommodations will be featured among the hotel’s 156 boutique-style guestrooms and suites—all of which will boast subway tiling, marble sinks, and rainfall showers in each bathroom.
