The 30-story Omni Louisville has debuted a block away from the Kentucky International Convention Center following two years of construction. The $300 million project was executed by Dallas-based design practice waldrop+nichols studio.
The hotel’s 612 guestrooms and suites are housed across intersecting towers along with public spaces with interior elements that weave together the city’s culture and heritage to ensure a firm sense of place. Neon pendants welcome visitors with the first of many references to Louisville’s historic colloquialisms. Stone and iron interior architecture are installed to guide visitors through an immersive onsite art gallery that showcases work from local artists.
F&B spaces channel the history of the Derby City with the 139-seat Bob’s Steak & Chop House honoring Louisville’s sporting history with vintage boxing gloves and colorful textiles reminiscent of jockey caps. The Library Bar serves as the heart of the property and boasts a two-story feature wall comprising individually wrapped books that depict a steamboat sailing along a river of bourbon. The 184-seat restaurant Neighborhood Services is clad with reclaimed bricks, while the private speakeasy Pin + Proof is equipped with a bowling alley. The Mokara Spa pays tribute to Louisville waterscapes like Ohio Falls, and the reception desk is installed before a water wall crafted with aquamarine and silver surfaces to convey a unique sensory experience.
