Virgin Hotels will make its debut in Washington, DC with the launch of a new outpost in the nation’s capital in fall 2019. Crafted by locally based architecture practice BBGM, the forthcoming Virgin Hotels Washington D.C. Union Market will be developed by D.B. Lee Development & Construction as well as Brook Rose Development.
The hotel will house 178 chambers and grand chamber suites in addition to several meeting venues and F&B spaces, including a coffee shop, the flagship Commons Club, and panoramic rooftop lounge equipped with an infinity pool. The design will honor the history of DC’s burgeoning Union Market neighborhood with an emphasis on its artistic roots through an artists’ residency program. A series of art studios will be installed on the property’s second floor and alleyway along with an outdoor garden appointed with sculptures from locally based artists.
“We’re excited to be part of the continued evolution and growth of the vibrant Union Market neighborhood,” says Virgin Hotels CEO Raul Leal.
