The Ballantyne Enjoys 17th Anniversary Makeover

The Ballantyne, A Luxury Collection Hotel, Charlotte has heralded its 17th anniversary with a multimillion-dollar refresh impacting newly crafted guestrooms and public spaces. Led by Atlanta-based design studio Blur Workshop, the redesign honors the robust history of North Carolina as well as the site’s history as hunting land.

Two bronze Dalmatian statues punctuate the arrival experience. The calm and inviting lobby is adorned with a neutral palette of white, gold, and gray as well as handpainted gold accents that reference the state’s historic gold market. Topped with glass, the reception desk showcases various special artifacts, while the lobby lounge boasts a striking new chandelier and rose artwork installed above the fireplace. The hotel’s lively bar, the Ryal, is equipped with plush pocket seating and a glass balcony overlooking the lush grounds.

The Great Room has been redesigned in homage the Carolina Emperor, the largest-cut emerald ever found in North Carolina. Endowed with a variety of comfortable seating and emerald, gold, and gray accents, the space also features artwork and photography narrating the state’s history. The onsite spa is now updated with a color palette of warm neutrals and soft powder blue tones, while rustic wooden furniture populates the interior.

Located on the hotel grounds, the Lodge at Ballantyne has renovated its 35 accommodations and lobby with a strong sense of place. All hotel guestrooms are elevated with a mixture of antique furnishings and new pieces that establish a refined but warm residential-style ambiance.
