New York-based design practice Studio Tack and The Brooklyn Home Company have unveiled the design for the Lake House on Canandaigua, lining the base of its namesake lake in Upstate New York, slated to open in summer 2020.
As the first independently-owned hotel of the Brooklyn Home Company, the retreat will be housed within a former motor lodge on a 109,745-square-foot campus, and going to be crafted with an aim to reflect the region’s culture of art, craft, and wellness. All 125 guestrooms of the new concept will be conceived to evoke a chic, residential-style ambiance, compromising the main hotel building as well as the Creekside hotel, a new restaurant, the return of the concept’s signature the Sand Bar, an onsite spa, and event barn. Sustainability will be one of the key factors in the design process, such as involving geothermal power and reduced plastic, among other measures to diminish the property’s environmental footprint.
