Ace Hotels and its in-house design firm Atelier Ace has officially inaugurated its new Sister City property in New York. Punctuated by a garden at both entrances, the hotel’s modern style is accentuated by a rotation of cultural and technological innovations, from an onsite library to a generative soundscape curated through Microsoft.
Equipped with self-registration kiosks, the lobby is also home to a small grab-and-go concept. Ground floor, all-day eatery Floret will debut this summer. Conveying an urban pastoral sensibility, the restaurant features a warm-weather patio as well as a private dining room.
Each of the 200 intimate and efficient guestrooms embrace a simple palette accented by Italian cherry wood furnishings, original, hand-stamped Noguchi lanterns, and custom terrazzo vanities. Notes of greenery also reinforce the outdoors.
Situated on the hotel’s 11th floor, the bar and lounge concept Last Light frames unique skyline views from both windowed walls and two outdoor roof patios.
