The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa has kicked off a nearly $700 million overhaul that is slated for completion in mid-2019. Las Vegas-based Klai Juba Wald Architects will oversee the expansion, while interiors will be crafted by the Los Angeles office of Wimberly Interiors, Los Angeles-based Laurence Lee Associates, as well as Klai Juba Wald Interiors. Once finished, the structure will boast 200,000 square feet of entertainment and gaming space.
The project will be anchored by a new 15-story hotel tower that houses 564 guestrooms and suites. The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel will be home to approximately 800 guestrooms in total, including 79 new suites. A private VIP gaming parlor will crown the tower as well. Three new outdoor pools designed by EDSA will be created adjacent to the second floor of the new structure along with the 120-seat Pool Grille.
Spread across 25,000 square feet, the new Rock Spa & Salon will be opened on the second floor, while a 200-seat Italian restaurant will debut onsite as the third F&B space. Located in the casino complex, the Seminole Hard Rock Event Center will total 30,000 square feet and include a 17,000-square-foot ballroom for concerts.
