The Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain Resort & Spa has unveiled the newly renovated Sanctuary Spa by Phoenix-based designer Lynne Beyer.
The women’s spa has grown from 12,000 to 13,200 square feet, and is now outfitted with a cocoon-like quiet room as well as a color palette of deep brown and natural tones. Sculpted ovals are suspended from the ceiling with 8-foot-long light fixtures, while sheer, off-white luminescent panels partition the room’s 12 chaise loungers. Softly draped walls are accented with cool-toned artwork, while scallop-patterned carpet tile evokes wet sand. The women’s locker room sits behind a plexiglass-backed screen and includes dark blue upholstered ottomans. Along with an additional shower, vanites are covered with engineered quartz and the women’s lounge now accommodates up to 20 visitors. Bespoke furnishings populate the room, which also hosts a beverage station topped in alpine granite below two lattice screens upcycled from the original spa. A steam room and a remodeled Jacuzzi area are also featured.
Maintaining its original footprint, the men’s spa is refreshed with new finishes and furnishings. Bathed in natural light through a floor-to-ceiling window, a leather-topped desk greets spa-goers along with a marble-topped game table for four. Textured wallcoverings, carpet tiles, and furnishings all honor a warm, neutral palette, while the tranquil waiting area is appointed with three new ergonomic chaises that contrast the charcoal-textured carpeting. A deep navy wall complements the room’s original stonework. A blend of gray and tan hues adorn the men’s lounge, which includes new furnishings, wallcoverings, and artwork. In addition to a new layout, four large leather chairs are arranged in pairs with accent pillows in gold and blue. In the locker room, a large round mirror serves as the focal point above a shelf of engineered quartz. Gray and charcoal porcelain tiles are installed in the wet area of the locker room, while mounted sconces infuse enhanced lighting. Like the women’s showers, mosaic stone tiles adorn the back wall of each shower.
