Aspen- and Denver-based architecture and design firm Rowland+Broughton has designed the Limelight Ketchum Hotel in Ketchum, Idaho. The 111-room property embraces its natural surroundings with a modern, laidback aesthetic.
Interiors were conceived to embody the hotel’s role as a community basecamp, with public spaces anchored by a seating area—known as the campfire—centered around a monolithic stone fireplace hearth. An overhead installation comprising fiber optics as well as linear, radial, and cove lighting stands in for a starry night sky to complete the effect. Outdoor spaces are enhanced with an overhead, reclaimed wood trellis detailing that spans the porte-cochère, lobby, and plaza.
Color palettes were inspired by natural colors, textures, and the contrast of shade and shadow. Primary materials include white oak, reclaimed barn wood, blackened steel, and natural stone and fibers. Custom, mobile furnishings with integrated technology create flexibility within public areas.
Guestrooms feature custom elements such as entry benches, banquettes, rift swan oak veneer cabinets, and abundant built-in storage. LED lighting and quartz porcelain tiles are also installed.
