The newest addition to Marriott’s Autograph Collection, the Row Hotel at Assembly Row, has opened in the Boston suburb of Somerville. Crafted by Colwen Designs, the urban luxury concept pays homage to the industrial roots of the neighborhood.
In the lobby, floor-to-ceiling windows create an airy feel, and a sweeping spiral staircase edged in glass and galvanized metal invites the eye upward. Juxtaposing polished, sophisticated details with bold industrial elements, the space is adorned with mirrors and whimsical sculptures from artist Feliciano Bejar. Known as Magiscopes, the pieces comprise glass prisms and lenses atop upcycled automotive parts to refract light and demonstrate slight changes in perspective throughout the day. Along with the lobby lounge and breakfast café Reflections, spacious private event rooms include the Assembly and Ford rooms, which boast expansive windows.
The hotel is home to 158 guestrooms and seven suites, with each accommodation featuring a sleek workspace and comfortable seating. Additional amenities include a communal guest pantry, fitness center, and pool.
