The Ritz-Carlton Hotel de la Paix, Geneva has unveiled its multimillion-dollar renovation. Set against the banks of Lake Geneva, the 152-year-old hotel boasts a modern, functional design that also honors the site’s legacy.
Newly restored public spaces are oriented around art, time, and nature, inspired by the lakeside setting as well as the city of Geneva. Historical tapestries adorn the walls of the hotel’s atrium hallways, while a flexible event space accommodates up to 100 guests. Easily partitioned into two rooms, the space includes garden views and abundant natural light thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows.
All of the hotel’s 74 guestrooms—including 14 suites—have been restyled in a modern scheme and feature floor-to-ceiling windows that maintain a visual connection to the expansive views. The Grace Kelly suite, named for the former Princess of Monaco who frequented the hotel, serves as the onsite presidential suite with sophisticated Art Deco details and gold leaf gilding.
The hotel also pays homage to Geneva’s gastronomic scene with F&B outlets like the Nordic-fusion concept Fiskebar. Spread across four connected spaces, the restaurant includes a fresh fish counter with communal seating as well as a traditional Scandinavian fish market design with minimalist interiors offset by natural materials like wood and leather. The all-day Living Room Bar & Kitchen is appointed with a lounge-style setting that highlights elements from the original design, such as the 150-year-old parquet and walnut floors. The Philippe Pascoët chocolate shop is also housed there.
