Provenance Hotels has collaborated with Portland, Oregon-based Lighting Bar Collective to introduce its first property in California, Villa Royale. Located at the base of the San Jacinto Mountains, the restored desert hideaway comprises 38 intimate, villa-style accommodations in addition to three pools and a striking art collection.
The eclectic history of Palm Springs is conveyed in the design, alongside a palpable Spanish influence and the architectural nuances of the Post War period. Modernist touches also elevate the hotel, which positions its guestrooms in the main building around landscaped gardens, courtyards, and two pools. Seven additional villas also surround their own pool in an annex dubbed Villa Rosa, which will be open before the end of 2018. All guestrooms will be adorned with graphic Portuguese and Mexican tiling as well as locally sourced midcentury furniture. Mountain views are also framed via expansive patios.
The property also boasts a 33,000-square-foot event lawn and the forthcoming Del Rey lounge.
