La Maison d’Estournel in Bordeaux, France has been revived to its original stately splendor by London-based architecture firm Michaelis Boyd. The restored hotel in the Médoc region of the French wine country reflects the rich and calming landscapes surrounding it with a palette of noble materials complementing a bucolic ethos.
Spread across more than four floors, the property showcases original opulent details like its elegant stone and iron staircase. A range of reception and dining areas are accommodated alongside 14 guestrooms thoughtfully enhanced throughout the existing footprint. The influence of vineyards and general outdoor living are referenced through various motifs and textures in muted colorways. Organic materials like stone, wood, marble, cotton, and raw linen further reinforce the sprawling countryside.
