Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows in Hawaii is set to join the Auberge Resorts Collection and undergo a $100 million redesign and rebranding as Mauna Lani, Auberge Resorts Collection. New York firm Meyer Davis will oversee the renovation of public spaces and guestrooms, while architecture firm Hart Howerton, also based in New York, will reimagine the propertyâs iconic architecture and landscaping. The resort will close its doors in October 2018 and is set to return in late 2019.
With respect to the iconic and historic gardens and 32-acre grounds, the renovations will reduce the overall hotel roomcount to accommodate new oceanfront suites that boast panoramic coastal views. Appointed with private pools, the ultra-luxury Mauna Lani Bangalows will be further enhanced as well. New adult and family pools will anchor the refresh along with several public gathering spaces. A new infinity-edged adults-only pool and lounge will be constructed with private cabanas, while the family pool will undergo a full overhaul. A 5,000-square-foot fitness center and a signature Auberge Spa will also open onsite.
