The Sandy Pines Campground has debuted on the banks of Goose Rocks Beach in Kennebunkport, Maine. The luxury camping concept comprises accommodations for every variety of camper with tiny homes, RV sites, and safari-style tents conceived by 12 New England-based designers.
Each 384-square-foot tent features 12 ornate, individualized designs, which are also appointed with four-post beds, child-friendly teepees, and antique furnishings. The 12 designers include Beverly Bangs of Antiques on Nine; Nicki Bongiorno of Spaces Kennebunkport; Debbie Chatfield of Chatfield Design; Louise Hurlbutt of Hurlbutt Design; Bronwyn Huffard of Huffard House; Ingunn Milla Joergensen; James Light of James Light Interiors; Nicola Manganello of Nicola’s Home; Jan Robinson of EcoHome Studio; Annie Stickney of Annie Stickney Design; Krista Stokes; and Lisa Teague of Lisa Teague Studios.
Spanning 650 square feet, the tiny home concepts are furnished with upscale amenities such as well-equipped kitchens, full bathrooms, heating and air conditioning, and customizable footprints. The Florida room will be featured in most units as a second bedroom. For more traiditonal camping, 100 tents are available, while 150 RV sites include access to electricity and water sources. All spaces feature their own firepits and picnic tables.
