Coastal Georgia resort Sea Island has announced plans to upgrade the Lodge at Sea Island beginning next month. The $25 million renovation will be led by Saint Simons Island, Georgia-based Johnson Vann Interiors, and is slated for completion in November 2018. The enhancement will include the creation of six new cottages, a new golf performance center, an oceanfront pool, pool house, and putting course.
The six new cottages will be installed on the western side of the Lodge to maximize views of the Atlantic Ocean. Five of the cottages will contain two bedrooms and a parlor, while one larger unit will be home to four bedrooms and a parlor. An oceanfront pool and pool house will boast double fireplaces, a wraparound porch, F&B options, and indoor-outdoor event spaces. A new, 17,000-square-foot Golf Performance Center will replace the existing performance center, and feature six instruction and fitting bays as well as a putting studio. A workshop, fitness center, locker rooms, retail, and indoor-outdoor meeting and event space will also be established.
