Lark Hotels has announced the opening of the Richard, its third boutique property in Edgartown, Massachusetts. Reflective of the original building’s coastal New England heritage, a design from Boston’s Rachel Reider Interiors balances Old and New World influences.
Housed within a 19th-century Greek Revival captain’s home, the seasonal property welcomes guests with an original front porch as well as a grassy, multipurpose courtyard. A warm, neutral palette with metallic detailing and bright white tones is accented by notes of black, purple, and emerald. The crisp, modern aesthetic is further expressed through clean lines, textured wallcoverings, and reflective metals. Patterned, marble-inspired wallpaper and a tufted leather banquette are installed within the lounge and breakfast area on the first floor to contrast sheer drapery and light, driftwood elements. A sleek cement firepit acts is the focal point of the courtyard, which is appointed with wicker seating.
Home to 16 rooms, the hotel features the signature Lark suite, which boasts its own living room and design touches such as black and brass metal elements.
