The Kimpton Aertson Hotel has debuted in Nashville on the corner of 21st Avenue and Broadway in the new mixed-use complex Aertson Midtown. The opening marks the brand’s arrival in Music City as it expands its presence in the Southeast.
Across 17 floors, the hotel’s elevated design from Gensler pays homage to the nearby university’s namesake Cornelius Vanderbilt and his Dutch ancestor Jan Aertson from the 1600s. The hotel hosts 180 guestrooms, including 12 spacious suites, that frame city and the university. Contemporary art anchors the property with installations like artist Orly Genger’s handknotted painted ropes that adorn the front desk. The open-concept living room-style lobby evokes industrial and organic qualities with herringbone tiled floors, reclaimed wood ceilings, and a cascading curtain of river stones placed before a double-sided fireplace. The modern American brasserie concept Henley from chef R.J. Cooper has opened adjacent to the living room.
Located on the eighth floor, more than 6,500 square feet of flexible meeting and event space is accessible across four different spaces. Equipped with floor-to-ceiling windows, the 3,630-square-foot Patterson Ballroom is outfitted with a large wraparound private outdoor terrace that can accommodate 150 guests and features 270-degree downtown views. A 24-hour fitness center, eighth-floor outdoor swimming pool, and Woodhouse Day Spa are introduced as well.
