Mountain Modern Motel has arrived in the heart of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, offering an elevated motel experience. Burlington, Vermont-based architecture firm TruexCullins crafted the 135-room lodge with a contemporary aesthetic anchored in the location’s natural beauty.
Custom, large-scale wallcoverings depict idyllic scenes of the Grand Teton backcountry as well as the National Elk Refuge to instill a strong sense of place. A playful color scheme disrupts the masculine environment, which includes gear walls that show off utilitarian décor, from hiking boots to skis. The tiny homes-style layout also features a combo kitchen and subway-tiled bathrooms, all of which is infused with whimsical notes like chalkboard word searches and platform bunkbeds in select accommodations.
The multifunctional lobby features new technology to expedite the arrival process and also hosts the festive lounge space. Adjacent to the entrance is the onsite barbecue concept Big Hole BBQ, which serves as the franchise’s first Wyoming outpost.
