Set along a one-mile stretch of the Potomac River, the InterContinental Washington, DC – the Wharf, is set to arrive this October. The 278-room hotel will weave the region’s storied history through its sophisticated and sustainable contemporary design in the city’s southwest waterfront. The property’s design will be crafted by locally based architecture firm BBGM and Sudbury, Massachusetts-based Parker Torres Design Inc.

Guests will be greeted by the open, glass-enclosed lobby, which will house a restaurant with a glass outer wall that opens to the sidewalk. Guestrooms will include a color palette of beige and blue tones across a variety of understated patterns and marble. Spa-inspired showers with a herringbone marble design will also be installed. Among the hotel’s 33 suites, the two-story Constellation presidential suite will boast panoramic river views. Distinctive pieces like billiard tables and Juliette balconies will make a statement in different configurations.

Crowned with a rooftop pool and restaurant and bar, the hotel will offer amenities such as a waterfront fitness center and a 4,250-square-foot spa. More than 17,000 square feet of event space will be housed onsite, including 11 unique meeting rooms and numerous upscale ballrooms appointed with waterfront views and abundant natural light. Rooms will range in size from 5,304 to 245 square feet. Three signature restaurant and bars will also arrive onsite.
